Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church offers many educational opportunities for children of all ages, throughout the year. Children’s Ministry encompasses children from birth through 6th grade. Sunday morning classes are offered for ages 3 through 8th grade. Wednesday Growth Groups are offered to 1st-6th grade.

Infant to Age 2 – $150/week
Age 3 to 6 – $140/week

We offer a small after school program.
School Days from after school till 6:00 p.m.
For children in Kindergarten – 4th grade.
Donation of $35/week per child is suggested.

Sunday School
The Pre-K and Kindergarten lesson time begins with the puppets. The puppets, Bubba and Judy, always have something happening in their lives that relate to our Bible event for the day. The Bible story is then told through a dramatic form that keeps the kids attention. Kids meet in their classroom where we reinforce the Bible truth through a crafts and games. Lastly the preschool and Kindergarten gather together for singing and they share these songs once a month in our Worship Service.
Our elementary children (1st-4th grade) begin in their small groups with a learning readiness activity. Then the groups come together for a creative presentation of the Bible event. A humorous puppet interacts with kids through a dilemma that is solved by the lesson that is taught. The large group presentation delivers solid Biblical content through interactive storytelling techniques. Kids return to their small groups in their classroom to investigate the Bible and discuss application. A learning craft, snack, or game helps the take home point stick!
Our Middle School kids (5th-8th grade) use the Growing in Christ program. This program takes students through the Bible in three years. Together, they explore the Bible, draw connections to the Small Catechism, and learn about the traditions of the Lutheran Church.
Wednesday Growth Groups
Our 1st-6th grade kids come right after school. They gather together for a snack and some play time to fuel themselves for the afternoon. The kids then gather together for a Chapel time where a simple time of confession, absolution and worship are experienced. We then split into grade levels for a time of learning the Bible stories, praying together, and life application. This program offers a wide variety of interactive experiences for children to help them learn that Jesus is a part of all we do in life.
Faith Legacy
Faith Legacy Series is a DVD-based training curriculum to help families grow spiritually in their homes. Parents of same-age children meet together for 3 DVD teachings interspersed with small group discussions. When the course is completed, parents speak a personalized blessing over their child while giving the child a blessing object. This blessing event is done during out worship service so the whole church can better support parents helping their children know, love and follow Jesus. Mt. Calvary has a Faith Legacy step for 3 year olds, 3rd graders, and seniors in high school.
