Mount Calvary is a church focused first and foremost on the amazing news of Jesus Christ. This good news declares to us that God isn’t angry, wrathful or disassociated from his people. Rather God, through His Son Jesus Christ, is shown to be merciful, forgiving, loving and deeply committed to mankind in a personal manner.
We believe that the only true God is the Triune God; one God made of three distinct persons.
[Hebrews 11:1-3; John 3:16; John 5:39; Acts 4:12; 1 Corinthians 12:3]
We believe that God desires all people to be saved and know the truth.
[Ezekiel 33:11; 1 Timothy 2:3-4; 2 Peter 3:9; 1 John 4:16; John 3:1-8; Romans 3:23; Colossians 1:21; Ephesians 2:1-5]
We believe that God so loved people that He sent His only Son Jesus to rescue us from our lost condition.
[1 Timothy 2:5-6; Colossians 2:8-9; Isaiah 53:5; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Mark 16:16; Romans 10:9-10]
We believe that the Holy Spirit brings us to and keeps us in saving faith through God’s Word, Holy Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper.
[1 Corinthians 12:3; Romans 10:17; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; Hebrews 4:12; John 1:12-13; John 3:1-8; Titus 3:5; Acts 2:38; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; Matthew 26:27-28; John 6:54-58; 1 Corinthians 11:26]

Being “Lutheran,” Mount Calvary Lutheran accepts and teaches Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Scripture alone, Faith alone.
God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.
By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.
The Bible is God’s inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.
Who is Jesus?
Suffering and pain touch everyone. At times life seems like an endless cycle of hopelessness. Even Christians, who claim that Jesus is the source of hope amidst the struggles, still suffer. They still struggle. They still die. So, what’s the point? What difference does Jesus make?
First, look at the brokenness that invades your life—those things that cause guilt, shame, and grief. They exist because of a condition called sin—sin separates you from God and robs you of the peace, comfort and hope you desperately crave. And no matter how hard you try, there isn’t anything you can do to make things right again on your own. That’s where Jesus comes in.
Jesus knows the misery you feel. Jesus makes the difference at that very point—when your pain intersects your cry for help. Jesus is God’s answer to that cry.
Jesus took the punishment you deserve. He died in your place so that you can be forgiven. Because you are forgiven, you can have the comfort of knowing you are at peace with God and the certainty that He provides you with the strength to cope with guilt, shame and grief.
And because of what Jesus has done for you, your past is forgiven, your present can be lived with confidence and life, and your future is guaranteed.
For all who believe in Jesus, an everlasting world—without suffering, sin and death—is assured. This glorious place called heaven is where you will see Jesus face to face. And this life is no longer about what is keeping you down, but about where God’s Spirit will take you and what God will lead you to do by the power of Christ in your life!
