Answering the Cry…
You can hear the cry in most churches today. It is the cry of parents, church leaders, grandparents and others over the loss of their children and grandchildren. Reaching the heart of young people has perhaps always been a challenge, but perhaps never as much as it is today.
Growth Groups
Growth Groups begin in the fall after school starts and meet each Wednesday throughout the School year. These groups are designed to challenge youth to live out their faith in their everyday lives. Because we are passionate about leading youth to be leaders in their faith our high school growth groups are youth led and adult supported. Supper is provided.
Confirmation
For youth who continue in the faith through such activities as worship, Growth Groups, personal and/or family devotions, mission opportunities and the like, the Rite of Confirmation will be held on Reformation Sunday (end of October) for all Sophomores in high school. In order for a youth to be considered for Confirmation they must demonstrate an active faith. For example, they must be faithful in worship, be in the word, and be seeking to live out their faith.
Commissioning
Our graduating class each year takes part in Grad Goals. In this way we seek to prepare them for what is ahead. Then in May we hold a special Senior Commissioning Service. On this day we celebrate their past growth as well as their plans to continue to grow in their faith. In this Service parents have an opportunity to offer their children a special blessing and youth have an opportunity to give their parents a special blessing.
