A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35
As Christians we strive to provide care for each other and our community.
Caring For Each Other…
Our care ministry is led by four groups: the pastors, the church elders, the caring callers, and the visitation team.
The Church Elders care for members in need by praying for them and assisting the pastors in visits to the sick and shut-ins.
The Caring Callers call members monthly in order to pray for them and to keep the lines of communication open.
The Visitation Team are members who make regular visits to Christians in retirement homes and hospitals.
- If you are interested in serving in either the Caring Callers or the Visitation Team, please contact Pastor Dan Wiese.
- If you or a loved one are sick or hospitalized, please contact the Church Office to be included in prayers and visited by a pastor.
The Martha Society
Mission: The objective of Martha Society is to foster Christian love, fellowship, and solidarity of the women in our congregation. We serve and support the congregation in its active mission program and are willing to help in every undertaking and activity.
All women of the congregation are welcome to participate. One of their ministries is to serve lunch for funerals.
Caring For Our Community…
Mt. Calvary hosts the Caring Cupboard and Phelps County Ministerial Association Charity Fund also known as Christian Charity Fund.
The Christian Charity Fund helps families in need financially.
The Caring Cupboard is a paper pantry that supplements the Phelps County Food Pantry.
Both are open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. – noon.
Both are run by volunteers and jobs include welcoming the needy, record keeping, stocking shelves, and purchasing items. If you would like to be a part of this active and caring ministry contact the Mt. Calvary office.
